An irresponsible and reckless act was carried out today by an unknown person in Pedoulas, which resulted in a fire breaking out.
As reported in a post by the Community Council of the village, on Louka & Evridikis Ellina Street, an unknown person proceeded to a particularly dangerous and irresponsible action, throwing lit coals into the garbage bin. This action resulted in the cause of a fire, which spread to the yard of an uninhabited house.
As stated in the post, thanks to the immediate mobilization and intervention of the neighbours, who extinguished the flames with the use of buckets and tires, the worst was avoided. Three fire trucks of the Forestry Department arrived at the scene in time, which completed the extinguishing and put the fire under full control.
The Community Council calls on all law-abiding citizens to be particularly careful and to show increased vigilance in order to isolate the few irresponsible people who, with their actions, endanger human lives and cause serious material damage.
