GROWTH IN THE MAIN SECTORS OF THE CYPRIOT ECONOMY IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2025

The main sectors of the economy recorded an upward trend in the period January-June 2025, according to the bulletin "Monthly Economic Developments" of the Statistical Service.

Manufacturing and construction on a positive trajectory

Manufacturing Production showed an increase of 2.9% in the period January-May 2025 compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

The total area of Approved Building Permits amounted to 928,000 sq.m. in the period January-April 2025, recording an increase of 13.3% compared to last year.

Tourism: 11.5% increase in arrivals

Traveller Arrivals reached 1,843,013 people in the first half of 2025, compared to 1,652,475 in the same period of 2024, recording an increase of 11.5%.

Decrease in vehicle registrations

Total Motor Vehicle Registrations decreased by 1.1% to 25,954.

  • Private saloon cars fell 6.3 percent to 17,058.
  • Light trucks rose 4.5 percent to 2,476.

Increase in imports and exports of goods

Imports of Goods amounted to €6.49 billion (+15.0%), while Exports of Goods reached €2.62 billion (+31.4%).

Mild rise in inflation

The Consumer Price Index increased by 0.9% in the first half of 2025 compared to the corresponding period of 2024.
