TWO DEAD DUE TO FIRE

Two charred bodies were finally found last night by members of the Civil Defense, on the Monagri-Alassa road, inside a car that had been completely burned. According to a police announcement, examinations are continuing to identify the bodies. 

In the meantime, the firefighting forces continue their efforts to extinguish the huge fire, which broke out yesterday in the Limassol district.  

Due to the fire, the roads of Trimiklini – Lania – Alassa and Vouni – Agios Ambrosios – Kividon remain closed to traffic.

Police patrols continue to be in the affected areas, to provide facilities and protection to the public, as well as to identify points likely to rekindle.

Posts and electricity wires were burned leaving 10 communities without power.

Update - The firefighting forces continue their efforts to extinguish the huge fire, which broke out yesterday in the Limassol district. Due to the fire, the roads of Trimiklini – Lania – Alassa and Vouni – Agios Ambrosios – Kividon remain closed to traffic.

Drivers wishing to travel from Limassol to Troodos can use the Palodias – Paramytha – Gerasa – Kalou Chorio – Agros and from Troodos to Limassol, the road Saitta – Agiou Mama – Apesia – Korfi

Police patrols continue to be in the affected areas, to provide facilities and protection to the public, as well as to identify points of fire rekindleness.

We remind all those who are in the affected areas to faithfully follow the instructions of the competent Services, for their own safety, but also to facilitate the firefighting work.

In the other areas, there is no problem that affects the conduct of traffic traffic.

In some areas, due to the execution of works, the smooth passage of vehicles is likely to be affected.
