 Pafos Live 30 July 2025

Five fatalities were recorded in the first seven months of 2025 in the Paphos district compared to only one in the entire previous year. Two of the victims were motorcyclists, both young, under the age of 21, while the other three victims were car drivers. According to the data of the Paphos Traffic Police, four of the fatal accidents occurred in the eastern area of the Paphos district and one in the western low area.

Two of the fatal accidents of this year occurred at the Anatolikos and Agia Varvara exits of the Paphos-Limassol motorway, one in Choletria, one in Archimandrita and the last in Kissonerga.

Commenting that four out of five are recorded in the eastern area of the Paphos district and whether there is any connection with the condition of the road network in the area, the representative of the Paphos Traffic Police pointed out that in all accidents the main factors causing fatal injuries were speed, the failure to use a seat belt or helmet and the mechanical condition of the vehicles.
