Filenews 20 July 2025 - by Eleftheria Paizanou

Taxpayers' lives will be made much easier with the addition of new service channels to the Tax For All (TFA) computerized system, which has been operating for the last two years.

Tax For All is the new, unified and integrated information system of the Tax Department, which unifies the procedures of all tax obligations of citizens and businesses in a modern, secure and transparent digital environment.

With the strengthening of the new applications in the system, procedures will be further simplified, transparency and efficiency will be enhanced and citizens will be able to be informed at any time about all tax issues that concern them. The new system unifies all tax procedures into a modern platform, offering simplified, transparent and secure service.

Through TFA, users can easily manage their obligations while staff work with unified back-office tools, enhancing efficiency and tax compliance.

The enrichment of the digital assistant

At the beginning of July and for about two weeks, the operation of the new system was temporarily interrupted, due to its upgrade and the addition of new digital channels.

Therefore, from tomorrow, July 21, taxpayers, natural and legal persons, as soon as they have access to Tax For All, will have the digital assistant by their side, which will be able to answer their questions and provide them with information on a 24-hour basis and 7 days a week.

According to information from "F", the digital assistant on the gov.cy portal has been enriched with the thematic modules that cover TFA's services, offering service to taxpayers on many issues.

Among other things, employer declarations (PAYE), registration or modification of information in the tax register, creation of an account in TFA and VAT returns and refunds have been added.

At the same time, the objection procedure, corrections, exemption applications and other special procedures, as well as payments and special schemes (e.g. farmers') have been integrated.

At the same time, the Tax Department also proceeded to create a support page for the new system, which includes all the material with the new digital service channels for taxpayers.

Among other things, there is a collection of information material, such as guides, questions and information on how to make the best use of the new system.

Taxpayers can access the Tax For All platform through the https://www.gov.cy/mof-tfa/ page. It is noted that the transition from the existing systems is progressing gradually, with the aim of fully integrating all services into TFA.

Taxpayers will be facilitated

The Commissioner of Taxation, Sotiris Markidis, speaking to "F", said that the upgrade of the TFA will greatly facilitate taxpayers, who will have the opportunity to be informed about everything at any time through the digital assistant.

He also said that the development of the new TFA support page and the enrichment of the digital assistant were carried out in the framework of cooperation between the Department of Taxation and the Deputy Ministry of Innovation, Research and Digital Policy, with the aim of enhancing digital service and improving the user experience.

End 2026 in full operation

The full operation of the system is scheduled for the end of 2026 and by then eleven more services/applications are expected to be added.

By the end of 2026, the Extraordinary Defence Levy, the Single Certificate of Liquidation, the Single Certificate of Tax Compliance, the Certificate of Remuneration, the Real Estate Tax, the Inheritance Tax and the Capital Gains Tax will be gradually incorporated.

In addition, the TFA will incorporate corporate income tax, personal income tax, automatic issuance of a tax number, electronic VAT registration and message notification function.

The Commissioner of Taxation, Sotiris Markidis, noted that the full operation of the system will increase the efficiency, productivity and collection of the Tax Department.

As he said, taxpayers' requests will be able to be processed earlier and at the same time tax returns will be cleared within three months from the day of their submission.

At the same time, the Registrar noted that with the inclusion of the new applications, the physical presence of taxpayers will not be required for the purposes of transferring real estate. If, as he said, some additional data and documents are not required, taxpayers will be able to receive them from a new system, pay the appropriate price to the Tax and the Land Registry will be automatically updated, which will be able to proceed with the rapid transfer of the property.
