Serious complaints are made by the deputy mayors of the municipalities of Akamas and Polis Chrysochous, in relation to the use of double-cab vehicles with firefighting material.
Specifically, they note that double-cab vehicles that had been equipped with fire-fighting material – such as water tanks, tires and pressure machines – and which had proven to be particularly effective for the first response to fire cases, are now used by municipalities for other tasks.
The deputy mayors also denounce that the fire-fighting equipment – which had been subsidized by 50% from the provincial administration – has been removed from the vehicles.
