OVER 400 PATIENTS WERE SERVED BY THE PAPHOS RAPID TRANSIT CLINIC - EXTENDED IN JULY TO LARNACA, LIMASSOL AND AYIA NAPA

 Filenews 3 July 2025

More than 400 patients have been served within a month of operation by the Rapid Transit Clinic of the Paphos General Hospital, without any delay or congestion, according to the Minister of Health, Michalis Damianos.

Mr. Damianos, who visited the Clinic on Wednesday, said that cases are processed in a short period of time, which relieves the Emergency Department and limits the inconvenience of patients.

This management model was initially implemented in Nicosia from the end of March, serving 1,850 patients so far, with an average of 20 people per day. As the Minister pointed out, the results are encouraging and confirm the need to expand the institution.

According to the Ministry of Health's plan, the Rapid Transit Clinics will be expanded in July to the rest of the hospitals of the OCYPY in Limassol, Larnaca and Ayia Napa, with the aim of decongesting the A&E and faster servicing of mild cases.

Mr. Damianos underlined that the operation of the Clinics enhances the overall effectiveness of the public health system and contributes to the improvement of the services provided to the citizen.
