The Game and Fauna Service is carrying out a series of actions to assist and support wildlife in the areas of mountainous Limassol that were affected by the recent devastating fire.
In a statement, the Service states that repair and supply works are being carried out to repair and supply the existing artificial watering troughs and feeding areas, while at the same time new artificial watering troughs are being installed at key points in the affected area.
In addition, the food supply is enhanced by the dispersion of five tons of cereal seed mixture, in order to meet the immediate needs of the wildlife species living in the area.
Also next weekend, in collaboration with KOK & DAZ and the hunting associations of the area, the installation of additional artificial watering meters is planned.
The above actions are part of our Service's broader effort to protect and conserve biodiversity, as well as to support ecosystems affected by the recent fires.
