The Cyprus Police warns the public of a new email scam in which mass misleading messages are sent that falsely impersonate the Police.
According to a relevant announcement, the Police continues to receive complaints regarding suspicious misleading e-mails sent en masse to the public and falsely impersonating the Cyprus Police, calling on unsuspecting citizens that they are involved and should be charged for various criminal offences via the Internet (sexual assaults, rape, child pornography, etc.).
The misleading messages are sent from fake email addresses and bear the logos of the Cyprus Police.

The Police inform the public that the messages are fake and have nothing to do with the Cyprus Police. The public is called again as being particularly careful and not responding in case of receiving such a message.
For the purpose of confirming any pending issues with the Police, the public is urged to contact the well-known communication channels available to the Police.
