A citizen who was passing by the main road Amargetis last night, noticed an unknown man, lying on the left side of the road. The man had a wound to the abdomen, which was later determined to be caused by a shotgun shot.
The Police were informed, members of which visited and cordoned off the scene.
The victim of the assassination attempt is a 41-year-old Greek Cypriot resident of Limassol, who owns a holiday home near the place where he was found injured. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and admitted to the operating room. His health condition is serious.
The tent is under guard so that it can be examined this morning by members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Testimony has been obtained against a 55-year-old Greek Cypriot from the Paphos district, against whom a request for an arrest warrant is expected to be submitted, for the offence of Attempted murder.

The victim is a 41-year-old Greek Cypriot permanent resident of Limassol who maintains a cottage in Amargeti. He was shot in the abdomen with a shotgun. He has undergone surgery.

The victim, who maintains a holiday home in Amargeti, was found bloodied with a shotgun wound in the abdomen at the edge of the main road, outside the community. He was initially transferred to Paphos Hospital where he underwent surgery and then transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital where he is hospitalized.
His health condition is described as serious. For the case, the police proceeded to arrest a 55-year-old Greek Cypriot resident of Paphos who maintains a property near the property of the victim with whom they allegedly had differences regarding the boundaries of the plots.

The Police arrested a 17-year-old yesterday to facilitate investigations into the injury of a 23-year-old in the early hours of July 3rd in the Famagusta district. The 23-year-old was found injured on a road in the Famagusta district at around 6am on July 3rd, 2025. He was taken to the Famagusta General Hospital, where it was determined that he had suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and was transferred to the Nicosia General Hospital for further treatment. Police examinations yielded testimony against a 17-year-old, who was arrested yesterday on the basis of a court warrant. On the same day, he was brought before the Famagusta District Court, which issued a five-day detention order against him. The 17-year-old is being investigated for attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department continues its examinations.
