The Police yesterday arrested a 15-year-old person in order to facilitate investigations into an ongoing case of assault and robbery. The above offences were committed on 29/06/2025, in Paphos.
Two other people, aged 21 and 17, had been arrested for the same case.
Investigations continue.

Around 04:00 yesterday morning, the robbery of a bakery in Nicosia was reported to the Police. Members of the Police immediately went to the place where from the examinations carried out, it was found that around 03:50 of the same day, a man entered the bakery with an uncovered face and attacked the employee who was working at the given time.
The employee in question managed to escape from the perpetrator (without being injured) while then the perpetrator then took the cash register, which after hitting the floor, opened and he took the amount of money of €255 from inside.
During the investigation of the above incident, testimony and consequently a court arrest warrant against a 29-year-old man was obtained. He was arrested yesterday, shortly after noon.
The investigation of the case was undertaken by the Nicosia Crime Detection Department.

Members of the Nicosia and Larnaca OPE, after evaluating information, conducted a coordinated operation yesterday morning in the Larnaca district.
During the operation, 234 boxes of heated cigarettes, 759 boxes of cigarettes and 71 kilograms and 350 grams of cigarette smoke were found in two vehicles owned by a 60-year-old.
The 60-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offense and was transported along with the findings, by the Customs Officers to the Customs Department, which undertook the investigation of the case.

The Police in Limassol arrested a 19-year-old person, as part of an investigation into a case involving the illegal possession, use and possession of drugs for the purpose of supply.
Specifically, members of the YKAN, after evaluating information, located yesterday afternoon in Limassol, the 19-year-old, who when he noticed the members of the Police, tried to escape by running.
The 19-year-old was stopped by the police and in his possession five bags containing 509 grams of cannabis were found and confiscated. In a subsequent search of his apartment, a precision scale with traces of cannabis and 15 grams of cannabis were found and confiscated.
The 19-year-old was arrested for a flagrant offense and was detained to facilitate the investigations.
The YKAN (Limassol District Division) is investigating the case.

It was reported to the Police by the owner of a goldsmith's shop in Larnaca, that around 6 p.m yesterday, unknown persons stole various chains from the goldsmith's shop.
From examinations carried out, it was found that two persons, a man and a woman, visited the goldsmith's shop and bought an icon worth €25. Then, while the man was employing the complainant, the woman allegedly opened a sliding window, which was unlocked and stole various chains, with a total value of €10,000.
The TAE of Larnaca continues the exams.

The Police arrested two people, aged 31 and 35, yesterday, in the context of an investigation of a case involving the exposure of a child to danger.
Specifically, yesterday around 8.30 p.m. information was received to the Police, about a 22-month-old child, who was transferred to a clinic in Limassol, with burns.
According to the attending physicians, the child suffered second-degree burns to his palms and feet, abrasions on his head, and signs of neglect. His health condition is judged to be serious, but out of danger and he was detained for further hospitalization.
The child's relatives gave some allegations which are being investigated. To facilitate the investigations, two persons aged 31 and 35 were arrested.
The other three minor children of the family were picked up by the Social Welfare Services.
The Limassol TAE continues its examinations.

The Police made 7 arrests for illegal stay on the territory of the Republic during an operation in Limassol.
According to relevant information, in the context of the ongoing actions of the Limassol Police Directorate to ensure Public Order and Legality, today between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 a coordinated operation was carried out in the area of Germasogeia for this purpose.

The Operation was attended by officers and members of the Limassol Police Department, the Headquarters of the Police Headquarters as well as members of the Technological Development Department, a team of the Municipality of Eastern Limassol, the EOA, the Commissioner of Taxation and the Health Services.
During the operation, buildings and premises in the area of Germasogeia and 70 foreign persons were searched and checked.

There were 7 arrests of persons for illegal stay in the territory of the Republic, while the rest of the service undertook the handling of issues of their own competence.

The 45-year-old driver, who was involved in the quadruple fatal traffic accident that occurred half an hour after the arrival of 2024, at the junction of Yiannou Kranidioti and Agias Anastasia streets in Polemidia, was found guilty of all charges today.
According to the decision of the Court of Assizes, the Prosecution managed to prove beyond any reasonable doubt the four charges of homicide, which the defendant had not admitted, as well as the charge of driving at a speed capable of endangering human life. All of the prosecution witnesses were found credible by the Court.
The accused, during the hearing, had admitted four other charges relating to the offence of causing death due to reckless, reckless or dangerous act or behaviour, in violation of Article 210 of the Criminal Code, as well as the charge of failing to comply with a traffic light, which was at a red light at the time of the accident.
On July 21, the next session to hear the position of the defense for mitigation of the sentence.
