The Police arrested a 37-year-old man yesterday, in order to facilitate the investigations regarding two investigated cases of residential burglaries, thefts and theft, committed in 2018, in the Nicosia district.
In the context of the investigation of the two cases, testimonies against the 37-year-old were obtained, on the basis of which court warrants for his arrest were obtained.
The 37-year-old was located and arrested yesterday, while on the same day he was brought before the Nicosia District Court, which issued a three-day detention order against him.

The presence of the Police in Larnaca was increased since last night, in the context of the daily policing operations, which are carried out in all districts. The patrols of the Police Directorate of the district were reinforced by members of the M.M.A.D. and UNHCR, following the additional measures decided yesterday, during the visit of the President of the Republic, to the Police Directorate of Larnaca, accompanied by the Chief of Police.
Patrols were carried out in various areas of the city and district of Larnaca, while special emphasis was given to the area of Finikoudon. During the patrols, checks were carried out on a number of persons and vehicles.
During the checks, a person, who was illegally residing in Cyprus, was identified and arrested, while vehicle drivers were reported for various traffic offenses, with the most serious being the complaints of nine persons for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The coordinated operations of the Police continued in the rest of the provinces of Cyprus.
In the Famagusta district, patrols of the Police Directorate's house, reinforced with patrols of the M.M.A.D., carried out patrols on the streets of the province.
During checks carried out, four persons who were illegally residing in Cyprus were identified and arrested. The members of the Police also proceeded to complaints from the managers of three nightclubs, which operated and sold alcoholic beverages without the relevant licenses.
In Limassol, the members of the Police, during the patrols they conducted, were called to deal with a clash, where they proceeded to the arrest of four persons.
In Paphos, in the context of the patrols carried out during the night, the members of the Police proceeded to complaints from the managers of three nightclubs, which were operating without relevant licenses. At the same time, members of the Paphos Traffic Police proceeded to a number of complaints for various traffic offenses, seven of which related to driving under the influence of alcohol.
The coordinated operations of the Police continue daily in all cities, with particular emphasis on the beaches and tourist areas. The aim is to tackle crime and increase the sense of security of citizens.

Following the investigations into an attempted arson committed on July 3, 2025, in the Larnaca district, the Police today proceeded to arrest another person.
This is a 38-year-old man, who was arrested under a court warrant and detained to facilitate the investigations.
It is recalled that a 70-year-old man reported on July 3 that a suspicious person threw two incendiary objects of the "Molotov type" in the yard of his residence in the Aradippou area, resulting in a fire. The 70-year-old extinguished the fire before it spread and before any property damage was caused.
A 32-year-old man is in custody for the same case, while a 35-year-old man was also arrested, but he has not been charged.
The TAE of Larnaca continues the exams.

A serious incident occurred on Friday evening, when two groups of foreigners clashed inside a house, under unspecified – so far – circumstances.
The Police were immediately notified and rushed to the spot, where members of the Police Force identified the persons in question causing concern and getting into a fight with each other.
Specifically, a 38-year-old, two 46-year-olds and a 43-year-old man were arrested for the flagrant offenses of confrontation and disturbance.
Information indicates that the clash concerned the purchase and sale of a vehicle.
The 43-year-old arrested, was transferred to the Limassol General Hospital where he was detained for hospitalization after suffering two fractures in his ribs. The other three arrested were detained while the Limassol Minor Offenses Department continues the examinations.
