A 3% increase in the electricity bills of the Cyprus Electricity Authority (EAC) will come into force from the next two months of invoicing, as confirmed by the Minister of Energy, George Papanastasiou.
As he explained, in his statements prior to his participation in the 66th Annual General Assembly of SEPAHK, the increase results from reasonable expenses of the EAC, which were approved by CERA following a relevant request.
"Through these reasonable expenses, an increase in the price of 3% is indicated and this will be attributed to the next two months when we will essentially have an invoice," he said.
According to the Minister, the process is the result of the relationship between the regulated and the regulator, while the delay in its implementation deprived the EAC of significant revenues.
