The American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo (AUB Mediterraneo) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with China's Jiliang University (CJLU), paving the way for a dynamic academic and cultural cooperation between the two Institutions.
This new Memorandum marks another important step in the expansion of AUB Mediterraneo's global academic network and the deepening of its collaboration with leading institutions around the world. Jiliang University, based in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, is world-renowned for its academic performance in the fields of standardization, quality control, and metric sciences, while being distinguished for the diversity of its programs and its high level of quality.
Under the Memorandum, AUB Mediterraneo and CJLU will participate in joint research activities, organise student and faculty exchange programmes, co-organise scientific seminars and lectures, and benefit from joint academic resources. The two Universities will also seek to participate in joint research projects and explore funding opportunities to support innovative research and academic collaboration.
Speaking at the signing of the Memorandum, the Rector of AUB Mediterraneo Dr. Wassim El Hajj stressed, among other things, that this new initiative reflects the University's commitment to further promote and develop its cross-border cooperation. The collaboration with China's Jiliang University, he added, opens up new avenues for our students, faculty and researchers, and expands collaborative innovation across all continents.
