The Municipality of Ierokipia is moving dynamically towards the green transition! Through the "Electromobility with 1000" sponsorship scheme of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, and co-financed by the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility, the construction of three electric vehicle charging stations was approved, with a sponsorship of €2,000 per station. Each station will have two charging points with a power of 22kW.
The stations will be installed in the following areas:
▪️2 stations in public parking lots in the municipal district of Geroskipou (one in the central square and one in the Municipal Beach).
▪️1 station in the public parking lot of the square of the municipal district of Konia.
On 4 June 2025, the Municipality signed an agreement with the Cyprus Electricity Authority for the implementation, management and maintenance of the project, which is expected to be completed around the end of October 2025.
With this initiative, we are strengthening our environmental strategy and responding to the growing needs for electrification in public spaces.
