IOANNA TROULLIDOU QUARTET
Technopolis 20 Garden
24 July - 8pm
We are very happy to welcome Ioanna Troullidou back to Technopolis 20, for a summer evening of jazz in our garden on Thursday, 24th of July at 8pm. The concert will feature a thoughtful blend of timeless jazz standards and original compositions, offering an engaging musical experience under the stars.
Ioanna Troullidou, a distinguished Cypriot jazz vocalist and educator, brings a personal and expressive voice to the stage. An alumna of the University of Pécs in Hungary and the Bornemissza Maria Singing School, she has studied music teaching & choir conducting, and jazz singing & performance, respectively. She has taken lessons and attended workshops with respected jazz figures such as Marion Cowings and Yaala Ballin. Since 2007, she has also been teaching jazz vocals at European University Cyprus. Her debut album Get Out of Town (2012), with arrangements by Chris Byars, marked the beginning of her recording journey, while her original compositions were first presented publicly in 2020 at the Cyprus Jazz & World Music Showcase.
Her own songs—featuring both music and lyrics—reflect deeply personal themes, from internal questions to emotional explorations and moments of quiet revolution. These original works blend seamlessly with the jazz tradition, offering a distinctive and honest artistic voice.
Joining Ioanna on stage are three of the island’s finest jazz musicians: Christos Yerolatsitis on piano, Kyriakos Kesta on double bass, and Ioannis Vafeas on drums. Together, the quartet will deliver a rich performance, where classic jazz melodies and new compositions meet.
