ENROLMENT IN THE MIEEK [Higher Vocational Education & Training] HAS STARTED

The application process for enrolling in the Public School of Higher Vocational Education and Training – MIEEK has begun.

As announced by the Ministry of Education, the curricula will operate at the MIEEK branches in the districts of Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta, Limassol, Paphos and at the Absolute Institute of Technical Education (AITE) branch in Limassol. The opening of the new IEEK branches in the Famagusta district increases the available places and additionally offers, for the first time, Study Programs in the English Language, aiming to:

  • To cover the shortages in specialized human resources observed in the region.
  • To support the local economy, through the provision of excellent vocational education and training.
  • To create opportunities for all, regardless of linguistic or ethnic background.
  • Full-time employment of their students.

In order to secure a place for attendance at the Public School of Higher Vocational Education and Training – MIEEK, a scoring system is applied, which is governed by measurable and transparent criteria.

Applications for admission will be made electronically from the website of the Ministry of Environment www.moec.gov.cy, or through the website of the Ministry of Environment www.mieek.ac.cy. Applications can be submitted electronically from today, Monday, June 16 until Thursday, August 21, 2025, while those who secure a place will be registered within two weeks from the day of the announcement of the results.

During the Academic Year 2025-2026, the following Study Programs will operate per Province and per Branch.

Notes

  1. The program in which Ö * is indicated will operate under the condition that it will be certified in good time by the IPAE Body.
  2. All Study Programs per province and branch will operate provided that the required number of applications that meet the criteria is completed.
  3. A number of laboratory courses in the Bakery, Confectionery and Culinary Arts curricula at the MIEEK of Nicosia, Larnaca, Paralimni and Paphos may be held during the noon hours (13:30 – 17:30).

The Study Programs of the Public School of MIEEK are offered free of charge, are of two-year duration and are certified by the Quality Assurance and Certification Body of Higher Education (CYPAE). They are competitive, innovative and based on the real needs of the labur market. They are addressed both to people who are looking for professional prospects, lifelong education and rehabilitation, as well as to businesses that are looking for suitably trained and certified personnel, or wish to invest in their human resources, with the aim of upgrading their knowledge, acquiring skills, retraining and promoting their personal and professional development.

Education and training at the Public School of MIEEK are provided in state-of-the-art laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment and teaching is done by well-trained academic staff and acclaimed/acclaimed professionals from the workplace. Attendance, in addition to theoretical and laboratory courses, includes mandatory practical training in Industry.

Attending the Public School of MIEEK ensures the smooth integration of graduates into the labour market, through the knowledge, competences and skills they acquire, with emphasis on the development of digital and green skills. In addition, their integration into the labour market is ensured through their familiarity with the use of new technologies, the application of innovative teaching methods, as well as the exploitation of practices used in international higher vocational education and training institutions. In addition, New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) are used in the learning process, with the aim of familiarizing and at the same time preparing students for the use of ICT, an essential tool in the labour market.
