A targeted and coordinated operation was carried out today, between the hours of 09:00 – 13:00, by the Limassol Police Directorate and the Aliens and Immigration Service (YAM), with the aim of controlling the operation of shops in the city center and combating illegal employment and employment.
During the operation, a total of 11 shops and premises were checked. From the checks, the following emerged: Three cases of illegal employment and employment. Four complaints for operating stores without the required license. Three arrests of persons for pending fine warrants, who, after paying their debts, were released.
One arrest for illegal stay on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus. In total, eleven persons were arrested. In addition, one person was reported for traffic offences, with the authorities proceeding to confiscate his vehicle. The Police checks are part of the intensification of efforts to consolidate the sense of security among citizens and ensure the legality of economic activity.

A 16-year-old girl was arrested in Larnaca for the flagrant offenses of stabbing and theft. A little earlier, a young man had reported that he had been attacked and robbed.
Around 2:00 a.m. today, after relevant information, members of the Police rushed to an area in Larnaca, where a 23-year-old man reported that, while he was traveling on foot, he was attacked by two people, who tried to steal his mobile phone.
According to the 23-year-old, the perpetrators stole his bag, which contained a sum of money, a pair of headphones, an identity card and various receipts.
A little later, as part of the investigations that were being carried out in the area to identify the perpetrators, members of the Larnaca OPE found a parked car, with a responsible driver, a 16-year-old minor, which they subjected to a check.
During the check, the 16-year-old handed over to the police a knife that she had in her possession, while in a search of her vehicle, the members of the Police found a number of receipts that carried the 23-year-old's data and that, according to the data of the robbery case, were in the bag of the 23-year-old that had been stolen earlier.
The 16-year-old was arrested for the flagrant offenses of stabbing and theft and was taken to the Larnaca Police Station for the purpose of investigating the case, with the Larnaca Police Department continuing the examinations.
The car that the 16-year-old was allegedly driving belongs to a familiar person. According to the data under examination, the 16-year-old was driving the vehicle without the consent of the owner, without being covered by an insurance certificate, and without being the holder of a driver's license.
