Members of Team Z of the Paphos Traffic Police, shortly after ten last night, attempted to stop for control a vehicle that was moving at a dizzying speed and did not have registration plates on the front.
The driver of the vehicle did not comply with the instructions of the members of the Police, moved in reverse, climbed a sidewalk and moved against the police officers.
To immobilize the vehicle, a service pistol was used with shots fired at the vehicle's tyres.
The driver, aged 23, was arrested for the blatant offence of reckless and dangerous driving.
From a search that followed inside the vehicle, 17 grams of cannabis, 13 grams of methamphetamine, 6 grams of cocaine, 16.5 ecstasy pills, two precision scales with traces of drugs, as well as a sum of money were found.
The driver of the vehicle underwent a preliminary drug test with a positive indication.

The Police yesterday arrested three people to facilitate the investigations regarding an investigated case of car arson. They are a 53-year-old, 46-year-old and 44-year-old, who were arrested under court warrants and detained.
The arson was committed in the early hours of April 30, 2025, in a village in the Nicosia district, targeting a car, owned by an 80-year-old man. During the above time, the vehicle, which was completely destroyed, was parked outside its owner's house.
It is noted that the 44-year-old arrested man is registered as a Special Police Officer, but he performs duties outside the Cyprus Police.

It was reported yesterday to the Cybercrime Sub-Directorate of the Police Headquarters, by a 36-year-old man, that an unknown person or persons made illegal access to his electronic wallet (digital wallet), through which he held cryptocurrencies.
According to the complaint, from this illegal action, funds with a total value of approximately €147,000 were stolen.

As part of an investigation into a vehicle theft case that occurred on June 18, 2025 in Limassol, the Police yesterday arrested a person.
It is a 22-year-old man, who was spotted by members of the Police in the afternoon of the same day driving the stolen vehicle.
He was arrested for a flagrant offense and was detained to facilitate the investigations.

A total of three criminal offenses are being faced by the police officers, a man and a woman, who are allegedly involved in a video in which they appear to engage in sexual acts outside a patrol car.
In statements to CNA, Police Spokesperson Kyriaki Lambrianidou stated that criminal offenses are being investigated against the two police officers, which concern neglect of duty, indecent act and perpetrator, which means a person who commits the criminal act, according to the criminal code.
According to Kyriaki Lambrianidou, the two have already been suspended and, in addition to a criminal case, a disciplinary case is being investigated against them.
In relation to the video, he stated that analyses were conducted and at first glance it appears to be "authentic".
He added that the investigative work "is ongoing," noting that the investigations are focused around the entire incident.
Furthermore, he added that for the purposes of clarifying the case, statements will be taken, for the purposes of collecting evidence, noting that "if other offenses arise, they will be added."
It is noted that the video, which was recorded by a citizen in Larnaca, has been circulating the internet.
The video in question shows two police officers engaging in sexual intercourse outside a patrol car, which was parked in an open area of the city.
When asked about this, Ms. Lambrianidou said that one of the two members of the Police was off duty at the time the incident occurred.
When asked whether the two members of the House have appeared for testimony, Ms. Lambrianidou did not want to comment.
