A yellow warning for severe storms was renewed by the Department of Meteorology early today, as heavy showers are set to continue across most of the island, mainly affecting inland areas and mountainous regions.
The warning (awareness level), 12th this year, will be in force from 12 noon right through to six in the afternoon, as isolated thunderstorms are expected, not without the possibility of hail and surface winds variable, strengthening, according to the Met Office forecast.
Yesterday, showers caused flooding across many central Nicosia areas, wreaked havoc with traffic and once again exposed long standing drainage issues in the capital.
