This year has been a nightmare in terms of water inflow into the dams. In fact, it was combined, especially in the case of Paphos, with two other major losses, the destruction of the desalination plant and the loss of the Mavrokolymbus dam.
It was the third arid year in a row, but this year the water inflows into the dams were recorded until Friday, the worst year of the last decade. In the hydrological year 2015-2016, 17 million 910 thousand cubic meters of water had flowed into the dams. Before last Friday, less water had flowed into the dams this year by about 100 thousand cubic meters of water.
The negative record of a decade was exceeded with the weekend inflows where almost 300 thousand cubic meters of water entered the dams, the daily consumption in summer is 200 thousand, with results that we have exceeded 18 million cubic meters for this year.
Very little if one considers that in the period 2018-2019 265 million had flowed, in the period 2021-2022 153 million and in the periods 2019-2020 and 2014-2015 more than one hundred million cubic meters of water.
