Create a parent/guardian profile

As a first step after logging into the eDEC portal, parents/guardians must create the Parent/Guardian Profile from the "Manage Parent/Guardian Profile" menu. Please note that in cases where the Parent/Guardian profile has already been created, it should not be created again. If there are changes to the parent/guardian's details that have already been declared, parents/guardians can update their profile.

Creating a student profile

Parents/guardians must then create the Student Profile from the "Manage Student Profile" menu.

For students whose details cannot be confirmed by the Population Register, an Identity Card or a Foreigner Registration Card (ARC) is required, which must be scanned and attached to the system. When all the necessary information has been filled in, the student's profile will show the indication "ready to enrol" in the top right.

Submission of a Student's Pre-Enrolment Application

Upon completion of the Student Profile, parents/guardians can proceed to the pre-registration application, from the "Services For Parents/Guardians" menu, by selecting "Registration".

It is noted that the eDEA system will determine the student's school of attendance (Lyceum/TESEK). In the event that the school of attendance (Lyceum/TESEK) is not specified by the eDEA system, parents/guardians should contact the relevant District Office of Secondary General Education (in the case of pre-enrolment in a Lyceum) or with the Directorate of Secondary Technical and Vocational Education and Training (DMTEEK) (in the case of pre-enrolment in TESEK) for further instructions and for the determination of the Lyceum/TESEK of attendance (see paragraph 5). Upon completion of the submission, the request will be registered as "pending validation", which means that the check-approval by each school has been submitted and is awaited.

It is noted that, for the successful completion of the above procedure, parents/guardians must attach all required certificates/documents/forms.

In the event that parents/guardians wish their child to attend either a sports or a music school, they must first complete their child's online pre-registration at the school of attendance determined by the electronic system. At the same time, they should follow/have followed the procedures described in circulars ypp18134 and ypp18027, respectively. Following the announcement of the successful pupils, those affected will have to submit an electronic transfer request (see paragraph 3).

Inspection Procedure – Approval by school and correction where required

From 22 April 2025 to 14 May 2025, the school will study all online pre-registration applications, with the relevant attachments, and will check their correctness.

Parents/guardians will be notified through the system:

>> or to approve the pre-registration

>> or to fill in/attach specific data/information/forms.

Parents/guardians will have until May 15, 2025 the opportunity to fill/attach specific data/data/information/forms, if this is required, in order to approve the pre-registration.

The school will study all online pre-registration applications for which data/data/information/forms were expected by May 16, 2025. Parents/guardians will be notified through the system for approval of the pre-registration. If for any reason there are still pending issues, the school contacts the parents/guardians by phone, to complete the pre-registration.

Transfer Process

It is noted that parents/guardians, who wish to transfer their child to a school other than the school already designated by the system, will be able to submit an online transfer application from May 15, 2025 to May 22, 2025. It is noted that there will be no other possibility to submit applications for transfer.

It is understood that in order to be able to submit a transfer application, parents/guardians must have previously followed the procedure as described in paragraphs 1 and 2, in order to enrol their child in the school defined by the system and obtain the relevant approval.

To submit a transfer application, parents/guardians should go to the eCMP portal (see paragraph 1.2) and select "Transfers" from the "Services For Parents/Guardians" menu. They will then have to register and justify the reason for transfer, register the destination school and submit the transfer application.

The approval or rejection of transfer applications will be done through the eSEAA electronic system. In particular, both parents/guardians and the affected schools will be informed through the system. The student, if his/her transfer is approved, will be automatically transferred to the new school through the system, without having to re-enrol in the new school.

Right to submit a registration application

All children, of any nationality, residing in Cyprus, have the right to submit an application for registration, regardless of the legal or non-legal residence of their parents/guardians.
