The Fire Service reminds that, due to the high temperatures, the risk of fires remains extremely high.
Citizens are urged to exercise special attention, avoid actions that may cause a fire and contribute to its prevention and timely response.
In case of emergency, citizens can immediately call the European emergency number 112 or the Fire Brigade line 1407.
Hot gas mass until Monday
It is noted that according to the Department of Meteorology, a warm gas mass will affect the area until Monday, while thin dust will be observed in the atmosphere from time to time until Tuesday. Temperatures today and tomorrow are expected to reach 38 degrees.
As the weather forecast states, increased high clouds will be observed in the afternoon. The winds will blow sea weak to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to a little turbulent. Tonight, temporarily increased medium and high clouds will be observed. During the morning hours, local fog and low cloudiness are expected to form, mainly in the east and southeast. The winds will gradually become variable weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to around 23 degrees on the west and north coasts, around 21 degrees in the interior and the rest of the coast and to 19 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow there will be temporarily increased medium and high clouds. The winds will initially blow northeast to southeast weak 3 and on the west coast moderate 4 Beaufort, to later become mainly southwest to northwest weak to moderate 3 to 4 and temporarily up to strong 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to around 38 degrees inland, around 33 degrees on the southeast and east coasts, around 30 degrees on the rest of the coast and 28 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday the weather will be mainly clear. On Wednesday afternoon, locally increased cloudiness will be observed. On Thursday, isolated rains and a possible isolated thunderstorm are expected.
The temperature is expected to drop noticeably until Thursday, to fluctuate close to average climatic values.
