FRIDAY - YELLOW WEATHER WARNING

The Department of Meteorology issued a yellow warning for severe weather on Friday (2/5). 

The warning is in effect from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. of the same day.

According to the warning, isolated strong storms are expected to affect areas mainly in the mountains, inland and in the north. Hail is expected to occur during the storm, while winds will vary and strengthen.

Detailed weather forecast: 

Mild low pressure affects the area.

Today, the weather will be partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy, while in the morning hours isolated rains and isolated storms are expected, mainly in the west, the south and the north coasts. Progressively and especially at noon and after, local rains and isolated storms are expected in the remaining areas, especially in the mountainous areas, the north and the interior. Hail is expected to fall in a storm. The winds will blow mainly southwest to northwest, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and temporarily on the windward coast to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will generally be slightly rough and in the afternoon locally slightly rough. The temperature will rise to around 23 degrees in the interior and the coasts and around 12 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tonight, the weather will remain partly cloudy and in places temporarily cloudy, while isolated rains or even an isolated storm are expected, mainly on the west, south and north coasts. Winds will blow northwest to northeast and on the north coast southeast, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. The temperature will drop to around 12 degrees inland, around 14 on the coast and around 5 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Saturday and Sunday, the weather will be partly cloudy and intermittently cloudy, while local rains and isolated storms are expected, mainly after noon and especially in mountainous and inland areas. Hail is expected to fall in a storm.

On Monday, locally increased cloudiness will be observed, which is expected to produce isolated rain and possibly an isolated storm, during the afternoon and afterwards, especially in the mountainous areas and inland.  

The temperature on Saturday is not expected to change significantly, continuing to fluctuate below seasonal values, while by Monday it will gradually increase slightly, to be close to the average climatic values ​​of the season.
