A protest event is organized this afternoon by supporters of the deposed Metropolitan of Paphos Tychicos, as his practical support, after his dismissal from the Holy Synod.
In a statement, the organizers say that the protest event will take place at 6.30pm in the square of the Paphos Municipal Hall with a request for the reconsideration of the decision of the Holy Synod.
The announcement is as follows:
"The Parish Initiative Group of the Holy Metropolis of Paphos extends a warm invitation to the entire pious flock of the Church of Cyprus and especially to the residents of the city and district of Paphos, to be dynamically present in a peaceful event in support of our Eminence Metropolitan Tychicos, which will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., at Paphos Town Hall Square.
At a time when our spiritual pastors are being tested, it is our duty to stand united, with respect and love, next to our Metropolitan, proving in practice our trust and dedication to his pastoral ministry.
The presence of all of us will send a resounding message of unity, faith and solidarity."
