Petros Petrou Papasavva, 62 years old from Pretori, resident of Limassol, is the victim of a new fatal accident that occurred yesterday morning in Pretori.
According to the police, the unfortunate Petrou, 62 years old, was driving a double-cab vehicle on the Praetorium-Kedara road when he collided with a road roller. The large vehicle driven by a young Greek Cypriot was parked on the left side of the road and was preparing to enter a dirt road on the right.
The unfortunate Petrou was trapped in his vehicle and the assistance of the fire service was needed to rescue him and transfer him to the Paphos hospital where his death was confirmed. The operator of the road roller was arrested.

The Police in Paphos arrested three people aged 30, 39 and 41 yesterday, as part of an investigation into three cases of burglary and theft, illegal possession of property and theft.
On 22/05/2025, a 46-year-old woman reported to the Police that unknown persons broke into her house in the Paphos district and stole property and money, all of a total value of approximately €4,500.
On 24/05/2025, the 46-year-old informed the Police that the GPS of her mobile phone, which was among the stolen, was emitting a signal at a specific point in Paphos. From the Police examinations, the mobile phone signal was found in an apartment, inside which there were two people aged 30 and 41.
Various items were found inside the apartment, such as electronic devices, bicycles, watches and bags, for which the two suspects did not give satisfactory explanations for their possession and were arrested for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property.
Subsequently, some of the items were identified by the owners of houses that were burglarized on May 12 and 16, 2025 in Paphos.
Subsequently, a third person, aged 39, who lives with the other two suspects, was arrested under a court arrest warrant and detained to facilitate the investigations.
The three arrested will appear today before the Paphos District Court, for the issuance of a detention order.

During the Police checks, a total of four persons were arrested at the GSP, before the start of the Cyprus Cup Final, for illegal possession of flares, fireworks, etc. They are two 38-year-olds and two minors.
The 38-year-olds, after being questioned and charged, signed a guarantee document to appear at the Nicosia District Court, on 26/05/2025 for immediate registration of the case. They were subsequently released.
The minors, after being questioned in writing in the presence of parents, a lawyer and a guardian, were released.

Three other persons were arrested today on the basis of court warrants, as part of the examinations for the attack, which was committed last Sunday 18/05/2025, at a club in Lakatamia.
They are a 19-year-old, a 23-year-old (Contract Special Police Officer) and a 43-year-old, against whom a five-day detention order was issued by the Nicosia District Court, at the request of the Police, to facilitate the investigations.
The following offences are being investigated against the three persons:
- Conspiracy to commit a felony
- Illegal entry
- Riot
- Malicious damage
- Possession of offensive instruments
- Person seized armed, with the intention of committing a felony
- Carrying a weapon to incite terror
- Worry
- Assault causing actual bodily harm.
