YELLOW WEATHER WARNING FOR TODAY

A yellow warning for strong thunderstorms and hail was issued a short time ago by the Department of Meteorology, which comes into force from 12:00 noon to 6 p.m.

Specifically, the warning states that "Isolated strong storms are expected to affect areas mainly in the mountainous, inland, north and east. In a storm, hail is expected. The intensity of the rain is expected to range between 35 and 55 millimeters per hour."

Our area is affected by a low-pressure patient system.

Today, the weather will initially be partly cloudy. Gradually, from noon onwards, it will get worse. Clouds are expected to give local rains but also isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, the interior, the north and the east. In a storm, hail is also expected. The phenomena are expected to weaken in the late afternoon.

The temperature will rise to around 22 degrees inland, around 20 degrees on the coast and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather in most areas will become mainly clear with locally increased clouds. In the morning hours, mainly in areas of the interior and in the east, fog may form.

On Saturday, the weather will initially be mainly clear with locally increased clouds, however, during the afternoon hours and after, clouds that will develop, are expected to give isolated rains and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains, in areas of the interior and in the east.

On Sunday, increased medium and high clouds will be observed, while isolated rains are expected from time to time.

On Monday, the weather will be mainly clear with increased medium and high clouds.

The temperature is not expected to change significantly until Saturday, while by Monday it will gradually rise, to remain above the average climatic values of the season.
