The Police warn the public about fake messages sent through social networking sites or mobile phones and invite recipients to supposedly pay out of court for traffic violations, through electronic links.
As stated in a relevant announcement, complaints have been recorded from citizens who received such fraudulent messages, which aim to deceive users and extract money or personal data.
The Police emphasize that they do not send messages of this type and call on the public to show increased caution.
Recommendations to the public:
- Do not open suspicious links.
- Do not give personal, banking, or other sensitive information.
- Always check the source of the SMS and emails you receive.
- Contact the competent authorities in case of doubt.
