FRAUDULENT MESSAGE REGARDING CYPRUS POST AND PARCEL ARRIVAL

Complaints regarding a fraud message circulating with Cyprus Post as a sender have been received in recent days by the Electronic Crime Sub-Directorate of the Police Headquarters.

The message reads:

"Cyprus Post: Your parcel has arrived at the warehouse but cannot be delivered due to incomplete address. Update your shipping details to get a shipping refund and hassle-free delivery. Click on the link below to make changes. Repair within 12 hours to avoid unnecessary losses!''  

The Police emphasize that this message does not come from Cyprus Post and is an attempted fraud.

It urges citizens not to follow the link and not to provide personal information. For any issue with your shipments, please contact Cyprus Post directly through their official channels.

At the same time, false messages continue regarding the payment of extrajudicial payments

The Cyprus Police (Cybercrime Sub-Directorate) receives complaints for false messages via Social Media and SMS, with which citizens are asked to pay extrajudicial fines for traffic violations.

The purpose of the perpetrators is to deceive you and extort money or personal information.

It is emphasized that the Police do NOT communicate with you in this way!
