Mobile desalination units from the United Arab Emirates will cover the water needs for 2025, the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, announced in an interview with the Antenna TV station.
In statements to SPORT FM 95 and the show "Diaspora News", the deputy government spokesman, Yiannis Antoniou, said that the first units from the United Arab Emirates are expected to be deployed in Paphos and Limassol, since that is where the biggest problem is identified.
As he said, a total of 15 mobile units are expected to arrive in Cyprus, while the points where they will be installed have also been decided. In fact, the Government, according to Mr. Antoniou, sought to buy mobile units, but they were not available, so the Republic turned to friendly states. In parallel with these mobile units, the needs of Cyprus for 2025 are expected to be covered.
