In his Easter message, the President of the Republic stressed that despite the obstacles and difficulties, the Government continues unwavering in its efforts to resume negotiations and resolve the Cyprus problem, on the basis of the agreed framework and with respect to the principles and values of the European Union.
He underlines that the government is proceeding on the basis of a specific strategy, which is already bearing fruit, aiming at breaking the wall of occupation.
He notes that in this effort, Nicosia has the support and sympathy of Greece, the institutions and leaders of the European Union, and its strategic partners, with whom it is laying the foundations of a stronger and more decisive Cyprus, with more credibility and self-confidence.
President Christodoulides said at the same time that the resilience of the Cypriot economy, which is internationally recognized, allows the government to continue responsibly implementing programs that focus on people.
He adds that from the beginning, the government has made sure to lay solid economic foundations in order to strengthen the welfare state on a daily basis, to support the mother, child and family, and to strengthen the country's security and defense.
At the same time, he points out that Cyprus is now a reliable partner for the European Union and the wider Middle East region, with strong ties on the other side of the Atlantic.
