The Police in Paphos arrested a 40-year-old man, in order to facilitate the investigations for an investigated case of vehicle theft in Kissonerga.

According to a representative of the Communication Branch of the Police Headquarters, the 40-year-old man who was wanted with an arrest warrant pending against him for theft of a vehicle was located last night and arrested.

He is suspected of stealing a vehicle on September 4, 2024 reported by its owner. The vehicle was located on the same day of its theft, when a dactyloscopic check was carried out and evidence was received. The vehicle had been damaged. From the examinations carried out, a testimony against the 40-year-old was obtained and it was found that the vehicle was related to cases related to damages caused to the window of a kiosk in Chloraka and to a drinking water supply machine on the Marathounta-Armou road.

Around 3.50 p.m. on Thursday, the Police received information about the throwing and explosion of a firecracker on a bus, in the area of Amathous, in Limassol.

Members of the Police rushed to the scene for examinations, where it was found that two persons, who were traveling on a motorcycle, threw a factory paper firecracker at a bus, which was being driven on Amathus Avenue, carrying passengers. The firecracker passed through the driver's open window and ended up on the dashboard of the bus, where it exploded.

The driver of the bus, a 51-year-old man, was transported by an ambulance crew to the Limassol General Hospital, where he underwent medical examinations. After not suffering any external injuries or other injuries, the 51-year-old was discharged, with instructions for further medical examinations by an otolaryngologist and ophthalmologist.

The other people on board the bus do not appear to have suffered any injuries.

Around 8.40 p.m. Yesterday, members of the Limassol OPE, during a motorized patrol in Limassol, stopped a suspiciously moving vehicle for control. The driver of the vehicle was a 37-year-old man, while it was found that the registration plates of the car belonged to another car.

Against the 37-year-old, offences of driving with false registration plates, driving without a driver's license, without a safety certificate, without a traffic license and without a certificate of suitability are being investigated. It was also found that he has been illegally residing in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus since 27/03/2023.

The arrest of a 25-year-old man for two cases of burglary and theft was made yesterday by the Police in Nicosia.

Specifically, as reported to philenews, the young man was arrested for the flagrant offense of illegal possession of property.

He was in possession of items of clothing for which he did not give adequate explanations as to their origin.

The 25-year-old is expected to be arrested today with a court warrant, to be brought before the court, for two cases of burglary and theft, committed on premises in Nicosia (pharmacy and shop).

The offences took place between 2 and 3 April 2025, where sums of money and other items were stolen.

A new robbery at a kiosk in Larnaca, where skilful thugs broke into a premises, threateningly grabbed the owner by the shirt and stole electronic cigarettes and food.

According to what was reported to Filenews by the Police, the incident took place yesterday around 11:40 p.m.

Members of the Police immediately went to the scene, where, according to the 38-year-old owner, unknown persons entered the kiosk and tried to steal various products. One of the perpetrators grabbed the owner by the shirt, without injuring him.

Subsequently, the perpetrators stole various food and electronic cigarettes and left the scene.

A case of theft and common assault is being examined, which is being investigated by the Larnaca Minor Offenses Department.
