The Police announces a nationwide campaign to control the use of seat belts and child/lift seats with the ultimate goal of reducing serious and fatal injuries in road traffic collisions.
The campaign will start tomorrow, Monday, March 10 and will last until Sunday, March 16, 2025. The aim of the campaign is to achieve through policing, the awareness of car drivers and passengers, in the use of seat belts in both front and rear seats, but also in the use of child and lifting seats.
Seat belts remain the most effective safety feature in motor vehicles. According to the analysis of available statistics for the three-year period 2021 – 2023, 52.5% of the dead drivers and passengers of vehicles did not wear a seat belt.
