Pafos Live 5 March 2025
A two-hour work stoppage will take place on Thursday 13 March from 10:00 to 12:00 by the staff of the Pafos EDA, following a decision taken unanimously by the General Assembly of staff on 27 February.
In a statement, the trade unions SIDIKEK-PEO and OHO-SEK state that "this decision has been taken in protest against the refusal of the Pafos EDA to conclude a Collective Labour Agreement that will regulate the rights and obligations of employees in the newly established Pafos EDA". This fact, they note, "affects the rights of employees in a way that disrupts labour relations in the Organization."
Pointing out that three EDAs (Nicosia, Larnaka and Limassol) have already signed and are implementing the Pancyprian Collective Agreement, the trade unions state that "despite our continuous efforts, which have lasted for many months and the creative mood we show to reach an agreement with the Pafos EDA, taking into account its particularities, there is a negative attitude and approach of the Pafos EDA". They add that "this is the inhibiting factor that does not allow an agreement to be found until today."
