HOT WEEKEND THEN WINTER RETURNS

 Filenews 14 March 2025

The mercury will hit 30 degrees over the weekend and maybe on Monday, but do not rush to collect your winter clothes because from next Thursday we expect a new sharp drop in temperature.

Detailed weather forecast

Weak high pressure and hot air mass affect the area.

Today, the weather will be mostly clear. The winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast, weak to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little turbulent. The temperature will rise to 29 degrees in the interior, 24 degrees on the north coast, around 27 degrees on the rest of the coasts and 20 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be mostly clear. The winds will blow mainly northwest to northeast, weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm until a little turbulent. The temperature will drop to 12 degrees in the interior, around 15 degrees on the coast and 10 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, Sunday and Monday the weather will be mostly clear, but from Sunday afternoon there will be increased high clouds from time to time.

The temperature will gradually rise until Sunday, while on Monday it will drop slightly, to remain well above average climatic values.

On Saturday and Sunday in some areas the temperature is expected to exceed 30 degrees.

A gradual but noticeable drop in temperature is expected to begin to be observed from Tuesday and the middle of next week, as the extremely warm for the season air mass will begin to recede and colder air masses will begin to affect our area, while some chances of rain and progressively even snow in Troodos begin to appear before the middle of the week. The situation will start to become clearer late this week to early next week as to how many degrees the mercury will drop and whether anything significant in terms of rain/snow is expected in our area.
