Members of the Paphos YKAN searched yesterday, pursuant to a court warrant, the home of a 63-year-old man in Paphos.
In a bedroom of the house, nine cannabis plants ranging from 14 to 30 cm high were found in a specially designed construction with light bulbs, thermometer and hygrometer. In other rooms of the house, a quantity of cannabis, with a gross weight of 19 grams, an airtight packaging machine and a precision scale were found and seized. From further investigation of the members of YKAN in the yard of the house, nine closed airtight packages were located and confiscated, in which there was cannabis with a gross weight of 250 grams.
The 63-year-old was arrested for flagrant offences and taken into custody to facilitate the tests.

A new case of internet fraud is being investigated by the Police, following a relevant complaint by the owner of a construction company, based in Limassol.
According to the complainant, in communication with a partner of his company, via email, they agreed that the complainant's company should proceed with the payment of an invoice amounting to €11,900. The complainant then allegedly received a new email, which appeared to come from the partner of his company in question, indicating the bank account details where the payment should be made.
The complainant proceeded to pay the amount of money to the account indicated to him, but in a communication he later had with his partner, he found that he was a victim of fraud, since the money was not deposited in his bank account.
The Financial Crime Investigation Office of the ICF Limassol is investigating the case.
On the occasion of this new case, the Police reminds the public and especially traders, that every transaction over the internet carries risks and must always be done with great care.
It also advises, that in case they receive such messages, before proceeding with the payment of invoices, to always verify the message, through telephone communication with their sellers or partners. For this communication, the telephone number with which the two sides have been in contact again or indicated in messages exchanged between them in previous transactions should be used.
Company owners or directors are also encouraged to inform their company's staff about this form of fraud and to implement procedures to verify the payment requests they receive.

The Police arrested a 25-year-old resident of Larnaca yesterday to facilitate investigations into investigated cases of burglary and theft. These are a total of 14 cases of burglary, theft and attempted burglary, in various shops in Nicosia, committed between the dates 22 January and 8 March 2025.
The 25-year-old was arrested under a court warrant issued against him, based on testimony obtained during the investigation of the above cases. The arrest was followed by a search of his home, where a number of items were located and received.
