On the occasion of the incident, the Police urge drivers to comply with the Traffic Code and avoid drinking alcohol when driving.
It also points out that driving under the influence of alcohol is one of the main causes of fatal and serious road collisions.
"Substances such as alcohol and drugs contribute to the reduction of mental and psychological effort exerted while driving, as well as to the reduction of the driver's performance, resulting in an increased risk of involvement in a road collision," it adds.
Finally, the Police emphasizes that it continues its daily traffic checks on the road network in order to prevent road traffic collisions.
