Police in Limassol made three arrests late Sunday afternoon during the carnival parade.
Specifically, members of the Police handcuffed a Greek Cypriot for obstructing police officers in the performance of their duties. According to information provided by Filenews, members of the Police went to the scene where the fight had preceded and this person stepped forward, preventing the officers from approaching.
Subsequently, he was searched, during which members of the Police found him in possession of two knives. The man was arrested and taken to the Limassol Police Headquarters for further investigation.
In the second case, members of the police spotted two people elsewhere in the parade raising suspicions. In a search, a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man were found in possession of a quantity of narcotics. Both were arrested.
Checks and patrols throughout the city by members of the Limassol Police Department will continue throughout the night.
