The project of the installation of ATMs by the banks in cooperation with the JCC is progressing, as was their commitment before the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides in December.
Specifically, ATMs will be installed in the following areas: Frenaros, Pelendri, Pissouri, Salamiou, Astromeriti, Avgorou, Eptatogia, Lythrodonta, Parekklisia, Argaka and Xylotymbou.
According to information, the project of the ATM installation will be completed around the end of May. As announced months ago, ATMs will be placed in community buildings, so that the basic connection and security infrastructure is in place and the installation can be done as soon as possible.
The ATMs will be installed by the JCC and will serve the customers of all banks, while the costs of installation and management will be borne by the banks and the JCC. They will serve customers of all banks and there will be no charge for pensioners over 65 years of age, as announced in the support measures.
According to Central Bank data included in the latest statistical bulletin, by the end of June 2024, the number of ATMs amounted to 397 from 398 at the end of December 2023 and 401 at the end of June 2023. In June 2022, they reached 416.
