The Police announce that, between 17 – 23 February 2025, a policing campaign will take place, with road checks of trucks and buses.
This campaign (1st this year) is being conducted in parallel and at a pan-European level, in the framework of our cooperation with the European Traffic Police Network ROADPOL.
During the campaign, the following will be checked:
• Documents of drivers and vehicles
• Speed
• Speed limitation devices
• Driving/working hours
• Tachographs (analogue and digital devices) and
• The mechanical condition of vehicles
For the successful outcome of the campaign, the Police cooperates with the Department of Road Transport and the Department of Labour Relations, due to their responsibility.
Also, checks will be carried out for the implementation of the provisions of the legislation on speed limitation devices (speed cutters), the provisions concerning working time and driving and rest hours of drivers, as well as cargo carried by trucks.
The prevention of road collisions involving trucks and buses is of paramount importance, as the consequences are usually more adverse, with an increased number of casualties, compared to other road collisions.
