 Pafos Live 26 February 2025

The police arrested a 61-year-old man for a dog abuse case in Pegeia.

According to the Dog Unit of the Cyprus Police Headquarters, after persistent efforts, thorough investigations and the gathering of evidence, the Pafos District Police Unit solved today Tuesday the case of dog abuse in Paphos, which took place on January 16, 2025.

The investigation led to the discovery of evidence against a 61-year-old man from Peyia, who, during his testimony, allegedly admitted to committing the crime.

This accused has been informed in writing and is expected to be brought to justice to clarify the case. It is noted that the dog was found in a garbage bin in Peyia by a Canadian permanent resident of Cyprus in a bag in bad condition.

The Police Headquarters would like to thank the members of the Pafos District Animal Unit and, in particular, Constable Nikolas Kazantzis, for their tireless efforts and the excellent work that has been done to solve the case.

Today the dog has been adopted and enjoys the warmth of his new home.
