Nearly 5,000 Cypriot students enrolled in UK universities during the 2022-23 academic year, with business and management degrees leading their preferences, the British Council said on Tuesday.
Data from the UK’s Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) shows 4,780 Cypriots chose British higher education, drawn by an 87.5% graduate employability rate and a selection of over 45,000 degree programmes.
Business and Management tops the list of preferred subjects, followed by Engineering and Technology, Law, Computing, and Medicine-allied subjects, according to the British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations.
“This year’s UK Education Exhibitions offer students the chance to explore all the academic areas that British universities offer, from the sciences to the arts, without losing sight of global trends as green careers,” said Pantelitsa Michael, Higher Education Manager at the British Council.
The British Council and British High Commission Nicosia will host education fairs on February 21 in Nicosia and February 22 in Limassol, featuring more than 40 UK universities.
The free events will include talks on study options, application processes, and funding opportunities.
