LIMASSOL ORDERS REMOVAL OF ABANDONED VEHICLES

Cyprus Mail 15 February 2025 - by Charalambos Stylianou

The municipality of Limassol has issued on Friday a final warning to the owners of abandoned vehicles and objects, urging them to remove their property by the end of the week or face legal consequences.

In an announcement today, the municipality confirmed that several immobilised vehicles and objects have been classified as abandoned under Article 120 of the municipalities law. A full list of these items has been published on the municipality’s website.

According to the authorities, these vehicles and objects have remained stationary for over a week, leading the municipal council to act.

If owners fail to move them within the given timeframe, the municipality will proceed with their removal and disposal in accordance with the law.

Residents with affected property are advised to act quickly to avoid potential penalties or loss of ownership. For further details or clarification, individuals can contact the municipality’s relevant department on 25-884-590.

This move is part of an ongoing effort to clear public spaces and improve the city’s cleanliness and safety. Authorities have not specified what measures will be taken against unclaimed items but have made it clear that they will not remain in place beyond the deadline.
