E-KALATHI - PILOT FROM MONDAY, LIVE ESTIMATED FROM 4 MARCH

 Filenews 8 February 2025

From March 4, the e-kalathi application has been locked to go live and, according to the data so far, this time everything will be ready and there will be no need to give a new extension.

Yesterday there was a presentation of the application by the contractor company to the officers of the Consumer Protection Service and the supermarkets and despite some questions, the assessment is that it is at a satisfactory level and user-friendly.

Speaking to "F", the Director of the Consumer Protection Service, Konstantinos Karagiorgis, said that e-kalathi has taken its final form and that is why the presentation was made to those involved, so that they have a complete picture, a few days before its official presentation.

As it turns out, the application is at a very satisfactory level, its use is quite easy and everything seems ready for its operation on March 4th.

According to the timetable that has been set, from the day after tomorrow, Monday, February 10, the pilot implementation of e-kalathi will begin and supermarkets will start supplying the program daily with products and prices, as will be the case after the official presentation. At the same time, there will be virtual consumers, who will use the application, choose products and make their own basket, so that everything goes smoothly in practice.

As we have been informed, 100 people from various government agencies have been selected for the role of virtual consumers, as well as people who have some connection with this application. This stage will operate for 10 days, i.e. until 20 March and will be terminated, so that depending on the feedback and the comments of those involved, the necessary corrections will be made.

The e-kalathi will be given to consumers on March 4 and by then the decree on the part of the minister will be ready, so everything will be done normally and in accordance with the legislation that has been passed. Regarding the application of e-kalathi, the information available is that in order for the application to be made, the website must first be ready. As this is in its final stages, permits will also be requested to proceed with the implementation. The process for androids is relatively easier compared to ios and it is expected that at least for androids everything will be ready by March 4, while for ios there may be a slight delay of about a week.
