At today's meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the "Forest Apprentices (Admission and Training Terms) Regulations of 2025", in order to harmonize them with those certified by the IHU for the re-offer of the "Higher Diploma in Forestry" Program by the Cyprus Forestry College (DKK).
"Today we took another step towards the reopening of the ICP, which, according to the schedule, is expected to officially open its gates next September for the first students," Minister Maria Panayiotou said.
The next steps are the announcement of the entrance examinations for the first students.
It is also noted that the RCM has already opened its gates for training local authorities, volunteers and organized groups on forest firefighting issues, as we had announced last July.
Therefore, in the immediate future and until the beginning of the Program for the Higher Diploma in Forestry at the Forestry College, more than 600 people will receive education and training.
