Change of image and use of the Paphos North Bypass, the main road leading to the Paphos-Limassol motorway. After the great task of removing decades of illegalities and cleaning open spaces and argakia, the busy road is also changing operation, since large-scale commercial developments that remained unfinished due to the economic crisis and the pandemic, have recently begun to restart for good, while new developments are in the works.
Already, the change brought about by the complete reopening of the multiplex that used to be the old Orphanides mall, to which some of the largest brands in the market were transferred and are already operating, is already visible. At the same time, well-known brands of the catering and retail sector have been active in real estate in the wider area in recent months.
Apart from the commercial development, the image of the area has already changed and the completion of the great effort undertaken by the municipal authority to move useless materials from the slow road that runs through the Northern Bypass and the removal of the illegalities that had taken place about 30 years ago, resulting in a change in the course of the waters.
The purpose of the works was both to restore the natural environment in the area, and to ensure that no damage would be caused in the future to the major project of the Northern Bypass, since it was found that in the riverbed warehouses of 700 square meters had been erected and artfully camouflaged.
