CYPRUS POLICE - TRAINING AGAINST CRIME AND TERRORISM

 


The Cyprus Police, as the Beneficiary, is implementing a project entitled “Training against crime and terrorism”. The project concerns training of members of the Police and joint training between members of the Mechanized Direct Action Unit (M.M.A.D.) and members of police authorities from EU member states, as well as training at the Cyprus Police Academy (CPA), which will be structured on the basis of the Stockholm Programme and the European Law Enforcement Training Scheme (LETS). Upon completion of the project, the operational capabilities of the Cyprus Police, and specifically the M.M.A.D. and the CPA, are expected to be strengthened. for the effective prevention and fight against crime, terrorism as well as other incidents (e.g. drugs, explosives, missing/wanted persons). The project is implemented within the framework of the Internal Security Fund with the co-financing of the European Union and the Republic of Cyprus, with a total budget of €297,133.09.
