A 41-year-old man was identified and arrested by members of the Police, who was wanted in connection with an investigated case of burglary and theft, committed last Tuesday, in Nicosia. The 41-year-old was taken into custody, with the ICF Nicosia continuing examinations.
According to the evidence under examination and a complaint submitted to the Police by the owner of a barbecue in Nicosia, 30 minutes after midnight, on Tuesday, January 21, a burglary was committed in his shop, from where a sum of money was stolen from the cashier.
Examinations conducted by members of the Nicosia ICF revealed evidence against the 41-year-old suspect and a judicial arrest warrant was issued against him. He was located and arrested shortly before 3.00pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

A 39-year-old Cameroonian man who is in custody in connection with the incident in Potamia in which a Pakistani man was shot dead by a police officer in an operation to crack down on illegal immigration will be brought back to court tomorrow.
The Police continue their examinations in many directions and will ask for the renewal of his detention, while the question of conducting a second autopsy on the body of the deceased by an independent forensic pathologist remains open.
At the same time, tests are being carried out to identify the alleged mastermind of the smuggling ring, a Pakistani man nicknamed Ali, who may have fled to the occupied areas.
Today, the occupation authorities released conditionally the Turkish Cypriot who was arrested and detained in the occupied areas, who admitted his involvement in the incident in Potamia.

Greek Cypriots were probably the perpetrators of the delivery robbery that happened last night in Aglantzia.
The food delivery man, although he has not yet given a detailed statement to the ICF of Nicosia, nevertheless reportedly said that the perpetrators spoke to him in Greek.
ICF investigators are looking for CCTV from the area that have recorded any movements in relation to the incident or the perpetrators in order to establish a connection.
According to the complaint of the foreigner, around 20:40 yesterday, he was called to deliver an order in an area of Aglantzia.
During the delivery process, he was approached by 4-5 persons, who after receiving the order, then snatched the bag in his possession, which contained a sum of money and various personal documents.
From the push, the complainant fell to the ground and one of the perpetrators hit him on the head, but did not injure him.
The perpetrators then fled in an unknown direction, with the ICF Nicosia continuing to investigate the case. Authorities fear an expansion of attacks on delivery men in Nicosia, which is why measures are planned mainly during the evening hours.

A 31-year-old man was handcuffed by the ICF of Limassol in connection with yesterday's arson case of a vehicle parked outside a workshop.
Specifically, from examinations at the scene and from the evaluation of evidence received, it was found that a 31-year-old man was involved. Following this development, an arrest warrant was issued against the 31-year-old, who was arrested as a suspect in the case and taken into custody.

Malicious action was brought to light by the examinations of the Fire Service and the Larnaca ICF regarding the fire that broke out at 2 and 25 in the morning in a vehicle belonging to a 79-year-old woman and was parked outside her home in Larnaca.
Two fire trucks responded to the incident and water pipes and breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire. The fire was extinguished and was found to have caused extensive damage to the front of the vehicle.

Two manned fire engines rushed to the scene. Water pipes and breathing apparatus were used by the fire brigade to extinguish the fire, according to its spokesman Andreas Kettis.
Examinations carried out at the scene at first light of day did not detect any traces of flammable material, nor did it appear that the fire was caused by a short circuit. So far the causes remain unknown and according to the Police, at this stage, criminal activity cannot be ruled out.
The second case is being investigated by the Aradippou Police Station in cooperation with the Larnaca ICF, who are examining whether the two fires are linked.
