A 4.7% decrease in total sales of petroleum products was recorded in November 2024 compared to the same month last year, according to the Statistical Service. However, a significant increase – 35.1% – was recorded in kerosene sales, while sales from petrol stations also increased.
As reported in the latest statistics on imports, sales and stocks of petroleum products for November 2024, total sales of petroleum products reached 113,640 tons, recording a decrease of 4,7% compared to November 2023. "Declines were recorded in oil supplies to ships (-13.9%) and airplanes (-8.1%), as well as sales of light and heavy fuel oil (-23.9% and -6.3%, respectively), asphalt (-7.0%) and diesel (-5.7%)," it added.
On the contrary, an increase was recorded in sales of kerosene (35.1%), heating oil (18.6%), LPG (13.7%) and gasoline (0.1%)". Sales from petrol stations increased by 4.1% to 58,587 tonnes, it said.
According to the Statistical Service, total sales of petroleum products during November 2024 compared to October 2024 recorded a decrease of 16,0%. "Indicatively, oil supplies to airplanes fell (-50.1%) and sales of diesel (-10.2%) and gasoline (-8.8%)," it said. Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of November 2024 decreased by 3.7% compared to the end of the previous month, it added.
During the period January-November 2024, total sales of petroleum products increased by 0.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, it said.
