Fotini Michailidi born in Paphos, Cyprus, in 1993, I studied Fine Arts at Middlesex University, in London, and earned an MA in Digital Art and Design from the University of Nicosia. I am an active member of the E.KA.TE and a board member of the Myopathy Disorders Association Cyprus since 2023.
My focus is on creating installations that explore concepts and stereotypes of the “ideal life” and how they affect our decision-making in our everyday lives. My work critiques societal norms and explores themes of beauty, identity, and community, creating installations that provoke critical thought and dialogue. I challenge the conventional through a lens of chaos and anarchy, urging viewers to find authenticity amidst societal constructs.
One of my latest painting projects examines the notion of beauty in art, and the theory of ‘when there is form; there is deformation’. I am able to distort beauty and the dystopian view to disrupt our emotional world.
Through my artworks, I encourage audiences to think more critically about society to open up conversations about identity and feminity, to embrace authenticity and individualism.
